Bridget

Bridget is eight.  For children such as Bridget, getting out of the city means getting away from a violent environment, as much as escaping  the tower block she lives in. Her break with CCHF All About Kids was much more than the chance to glimpse the sea. For this particular eight year old the break was about giving her a lifeline to sanity. Bridget lives in a run-down part of London and has grown up watching the live-in boyfriend beat up her mother. Despite court injunctions the violence continued for five years. Bridget is a friendly girl, but became wary of people and was described by her mother as being "very clingy".
